Hello, everyone. My name is Sasaki from Otsuchi Town in Iwate Prefecture. This year, our town’s Kirikiri Beach
obtained Blue Flag certification. This is entirely thanks to everyone who supported us, and I would like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude.
Since receiving the certification, we have welcomed even more visitors than last year, and we are seeing
tangible results, particularly in the increase of visitors from outside the prefecture, such as the Kanto and
Kansai regions. On the other hand, as visitor numbers have grown, new operational challenges have also
emerged. We recognize that obtaining this certification is not a goal for us, but rather a new starting point.
Encouraged by this achievement, we will continue to work to enhance the appeal of our beach and ensure
its sustainable operation. We ask for your continued support and cooperation. Thank you very much for
